When You Take Birth Control Do You Still Show Signs Of Ovulation?

Written by MWooten on November 26th, 2009

I just started BC 9 days ago and I have noticed that my breasts are larger, and my vaginal discharge is thick like when my body usually ovulates. Does your body show the normal cycle of ovulation when you are on BC?
I ask this because my boyfriend and I just had unprotected sex (no ejaculation) and I want to know if I should be concerned.

you should not be ovulating while on bc. those changes can be from the hormones in the pill.
on a side note, vaginal discharge around ovulation should be thin and stringy like egg whites.
normally dr’s have you use back-up for the first month to be safe but chances are you didn’t ovulate.

you take birth control so you dont ovulate. hince no pregnancy. there can still be sperm if there is no ejaculation. usually you are told to use another from of control for 14 days. this could be your body getting use to the hormone levels in your system.

You still ovulate what the pill does is blocking the sperm so you won’t get pregnant. It takes about a month for the pill to start working it make a mucus so you don’t get pregnant and you just started i would still use a back up method just in case there is still that 1% chance you can become pregnant

You still ovulate on BC. You just can’t (well most can’t) conceive.

I could never tell when I ovulated when I was on BC – but some people can. Then again, it could be your body getting used to the hormones that are now controlling your body. My breasts were the first thing to get bigger when I started mine too. It’s weird…I didn’t gain weight, just my boobs got bigger.
