Male Molestation Treatment?

Written by MWooten on January 15th, 2010

I’m working on my thesis which deals with the issue of treating the long-term effects of being molested in childhood. A case study of mine is a 30yo male who had been fiercely raped and molested when he was 15yo by his aunt’s husband. Although he’s straight(heterosexual), he has never been able to have intercourse with any women in his life, due to the erectile dysfunction and premature ejaculation incurred as the result of the early sexual abuse. “Medication (Viagra, Cialis, etc.) and psycho-therapy could not solve this problem”. Is there anyway he can be treated?

psychotherapy seems to be the only thing that work, but can take a long time. even up to two years. if there is no improvement within a year, perhaps he should see a therapist, that specializes in this treatment. it may not hurt also to see a psychiatrist. if he is too depressed or has other mental health issues, the therapy may not work too well for him, as he may be too depressed, or anxious to accept the therapy. he may need some medication temporarily, so he can receive the most benefit of his therapy. good luck to you.
