Can My Bfs Premature Ejaculation Problem Be Cured? How? Where?

Written by MWooten on January 20th, 2010

I have been with my boyfriend for nearly 3 years. He has always had a problem with premature ejaculation. I on the other hand, do not orgasm. He usually comes within the first 5 minutes and it is leaving me frustrated and unsatisfied, as i just cannot reach climax in that time. Is there anything i can do to ‘train’ him into lasting longer? Or anyway that i can orgasm quicker, as i have never experienced an orgasm with him for this reason.

    How old is he?
It needs to be determined whether or not this is a lifelong premature ejaculation issue (i.e. this was an issue with his first sexual experience and and has been a problem throughout life) or Acquired premature ejaculation, which has developed gradually or suddenly. And also, whether it’s physical or emotional issue.
Short-term success rates of 50-60% have been reported with behavioural strategies but pharmacological treatment has been shown to be more effective and improvements achieved with behavioural strategies are generally not maintained long-term.
If every else fails, I think SSRIs might be the most common drug used in this instance (Paroxetine, sertraline and fluoxetine etc would be rational choices)
Sildenafil is only going to be useful if this is associated with erectile dysfunction. Anaesthetic creams might help too, although it sounds like a silly suggestion.
Before any drug management general advice regarding sex sometimes helps too.
If this is a psychological issue then Psycho-sexual therapy is the best way to go. Tell him to go see his GP.

There are books for dealing with premature ejaculation (PE), many of them dealing with specific techniques to overcoming this issue. http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&rlz=1…
Sometimes the problem is emotional, but sometimes premature ejaculation is due to a medical problem. I know it might be embarrassing to talk to a doctor about this. However, doctors have heard all sorts of stories from the clients they see. If a physical cause for PE is suspected, the primary care physician might refer your bf to a urologist. There are prescription medications that can often help PE.
Sometimes PE is primarily a psychological issue, and a psychotherapist can be helpful. Research shows that the combination of therapy plus possibly some medication is more helpful than therapy alone or meds alone. Finally, there are also licensed, fully legitimate, sex therapists and even sex surrogates who are highly trained to help with this kind of issue. Make sure you find someone who is properly licensed by the state.
Some info in this link might help: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Premature_e…
If you want to do a LOT of research, go to http://www.google.com/search?sourceid=na… However, be cautious and try to separate the facts from the con artists selling techniques & products for PE. You both deserve to be happy. I wish you well.
